Currently used by major universities in Australia, Malaysia, and the USA, this unique video-based simulation utilises interactive point-of-view videos, allowing learners to assume the role of a working pharmacist and experience their decisions from the patient’s perspective.
Students engage in the scenario through a first-person view, choosing from various conversational options as the narrative unfolds. Following the interaction, students review the entire exchange from the patient’s viewpoint.
This innovative approach ‘flips the script’ and fosters empathy by enabling students to understand the challenges patients face in navigating a bustling pharmacy environment, effectively ‘walking in someone else’s shoes’.
We are actively developing other ‘episodes’ tailored to specific learning objectives.
While our initial project is available for free use, we are planning to introduce a low-cost subscription model for future content. You can access the project simply by clicking below.
Note: The project is optimised for tablet or larger screens.
"This simulated patient encounter offered our learners the opportunity to engage in real world scenarios through a familiar game-based format. The most beneficial part of this experience was the opportunity to replay the patient’s viewpoint, so students can appreciate what it’s really like to be on the other side of this encounter."
